Photographic collection, [ca. 1902-1920].

Most photographs were taken in the Pacific Northwest. The purpose of this collection was to illustrate the need for conservation regulations. Many photographs depict the aftermath of hunting trips. The photographs entitled "Rocky Mountain Goat" won John M. Phillips the first prize in the Museum's 1922 Photographs of Mammals competition; other photographs were issued by the New York Zoological Park, E.F. Keller, F. Jay Haynes, G.E. Stone, U.S. Forest Service, and J.D. Willis. Most of the photographs were probably taken by John M. Phillips. Photographs are identified.
